PROGRAM GOALS
Whether you are in a chorus class, guitar class, concert band class, a member of the marching band, or involved in an after-school workshop, my goal is to provide you with the best possible educational development through music. While involved in the music program, you will learn to play and become skilled in performing on a musical instrument, or learn how to become a better singer! You will have multiple opportunities to perform throughout the term as both a solo and a group musician. As a student in the music program, you will become immersed in music from all eras of history, from Ancient times all the way to today's popular music styles. Examples of music genres you will study include American Jazz, Music of Ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt and China, Classic Rock and Roll, Gospel, Classical, Baroque, Rhythm & Blues, Pop, Post-Modern, and more! You will learn to read and write music notation, and even collaborate on music composition projects where you learn to write and create your own music! You will learn and perform music of various genres, and be able to showcase what you've learned throughout the semester at the winter or spring music concerts.
